In Quire, the data entered into a field is called a **value**. This guide explains how to edit different types of field values directly from the **Table view**.

You can edit most field values directly from the Table view by entering **edit mode**.

1. Click on the task to select it.
2. Click on the field cell again.
3. Start editing the value in edit mode.

Some field types cannot be edited by clicking the field cell directly in the Table view. Instead, you must use the **pen (edit) icon** or follow specific behavior.

- **Text (paragraph) fields**:

- Click the **pen (edit) icon** to modify the paragraph content.
- **Email address fields**:

- Click the **pen (edit) icon** to edit the email.
  - Clicking the email address itself will open your default email client.
- **URL fields**:

- Click the **pen (edit) icon** to edit the URL.
  - Clicking the URL directly will open the link in a new browser tab.
- **Formula fields**:

- Formula values cannot be edited manually.
  - These values are automatically generated based on the formula configuration.
  - To change them, you must edit the formula itself by following this [Edit Fields guide](/content/guide/quire-table-view/#edit-fields/index.html).
